At ImageToTextFree.com, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use our free image to text converter.
What We Collect
When you use our service, we process:
- Images you upload – These are temporarily stored on our servers for processing only. Files are automatically deleted within 24 hours after conversion.
- Basic usage data – We log approximate timestamps and file sizes to monitor service health. This data cannot be linked to you personally.
- Technical information – Browser type, approximate location (country level only), and general performance metrics. Nothing that identifies you.
What We Don't Do
- We don't sell, rent, or share your uploaded files with anyone
- We don't store the text content extracted from your images
- We don't track you across other websites
- We don't require registration or account creation
- We don't use cookies for advertising or tracking purposes
How We Protect Your Data
All file transfers are encrypted using HTTPS. Our servers run on Cloudflare, which provides additional DDoS protection and security layers. Uploaded files are stored in isolated containers and automatically purged on a scheduled basis.
We limit data retention to the minimum necessary for service operation. The only persistent data we keep is anonymized aggregate statistics (total conversions, general performance data) which help us understand how the service is being used.
Third-Party Services
We use AWS (Amazon Web Services) for OCR processing. When you upload an image, it's processed through AWS's text recognition services. Both Cloudflare and AWS have their own privacy policies, which you can review on their respective websites.
We don't embed third-party analytics trackers, advertising pixels, or social media plugins that would share your data with external parties.
Children's Privacy
Our service is not specifically designed for or marketed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used our service, contact us and we'll remove any associated data.
Your Rights
Since we don't store personal information or maintain user accounts, there's not much to request. But if you have concerns:
- You can stop using the service at any time
- Uploaded files are deleted automatically within 24 hours
- Email us if you have specific questions about your data
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we might add a notice on the homepage. The current version is always available at this URL.
